Senate blocks drug-import measure. I love the curtain of logic behind this measure. "Let's keep America safe by promoting healthy drug consumption, because everyone outside of the United States makes un-safe drugs." I laugh when the FDA talks about "consumer safety" because they are practitioners of profit, with safety being the least of their concerns. In studies conducted by pharmaceutical companies, participants are stacked, and those who will react unfavorably to the drug are tossed away in the pre-screening process. Then, the drug company can conduct as many studies as they need in order to provide the FDA with two studies showing positive results. Hypothetically, the drug company can run 100 studies, 98 failure and 2 success in order to receive approval from the government. That is not science; that is profit in the pockets of big business and lawmakers.
Tell me, how is that safe?
