As Neil was leaving for his lunch break, he said "See you Friday. Good luck getting graduate school under control." We both laughed, and then he made a joke about using the principles of behavior to manage graduate school... Hmmm
So maybe that's what we're going to do. Every time graduate school says "We don't have any homework tonight," we'll give it social approval and clean the BATS lab. Every time it says "You have homework tonight," we'll either ignore the response or respond with some horribly aversive condition, one that will be sure to terminate the future likely hood of something like that ever happening again. And after a while, if the our hopes and dreams line up with reality, I'll get to fall asleep at a decent hour, and I'll have time to sport climb, hike, and ride my bike around the crack-head ghettos of Kalamazoo.
My analysis is too simplistic, but maybe if we try, really, really hard, we'll get somewhere :-)
